I wish it did that every month lol, but your period can be delayed for
several reasons, stress, medications, female troubles, birth control,
pregnancy, surgery and so on. If your for sure your not pregnant and not
having any unusual symptoms then I would give it a little more time and if
still nothing, then you should definitly call your OB/GYN. This happens to
my girlfriends, my mom and myself once in a while. Good luck!

That happened to me about 4 months post-op. Before surgery, I was as
regular as the moon, to the time of day even! Then, two months post-op, it
started getting rarer and rarer and eventually stopped. Hasn't come back
yet and I'm 9 months out now. I'll ask my doctor about it at the next appt,
but honestly, I don't miss it at all.

I use to be so regular, you could set your watch by it :0). At 1 month
post op I stopped for 3 cycles, and lost hardly any weight, but the inches
still dropped. I had a lumpectomy this past Dec. and now I am once again
on a plateau, but the inches are still dropping, I know this sounds crazy,
but I miss it, but only because when I was regular... I dropped the pounds.
I have spoken to my pcp about this and she says its probably my body
resting, and recovering from the stress of the surgerys, and not enough
estrogen to create a cycle.

I wish I could be so lucky... I'm 7 months PO and have had 12 periods.
OB/GYN says the harmones have no where to go because they are stored in the
body fat. From on extreme to the other... Good Luck

Kymberly, This has happened to me. Pre-op I was on hte pill and periods
came like clock work. I had surgery on 5/16/03 and the week after surgery
got my period. Was pretty regular each month through Oct. From Oct. -
Jan. no period. Got one the beginning of Jan. and now nothing.
I asked my family doctor about it and he told me he wasn't surprised since
my body is coping with the drastic weightloss and thinks it is starving.
He told me it might take me a year before I have a regular monthly visitor.

The loss of your period is because your body is going through so many
changes and it needs to regulate itself.

I agree.....I didn't get my period for the first 4 months post op and was
not pg. Hormonal fluctuations with the weight loss
