Question:
Curious if others with similar stats made it to goal? My height is 5'11
and a starting weight of 330. I am six months postop and am down 110 lbs. Just curious to know how I am doing compared to others with similar stats?? I still need to lose 40 lbs. more. Just seems like I won't ever get there. — Jeannie4 (posted on January 29, 2004)

Hi there! I started at 5'10" and 346#. I am 5.5 months post op and
have lost 109! My super goal would be to lose about 60-70 more, but if I
could lose 40 more and just get under 200, I would be happy! It has really
slowed down now though, and I seem to plateau for a week or two at a time,
then I'll drop 5-8 pounds and plateau for a while again.

I'm 18 months out and started out at 425 pounds...I've lost 215 pounds and
STILL losing. I am very nearly at goal for my height and bone structure
and have about 35 pounds of skin to have removed from my middle (not
counting thighs, arms, etc.). Hang tough - you have lots of time to goooo
:-)

Not sure how similar you want those stats.. but I was 372 when I started,
5'6" -- i'M STILL 5'6" (though everyone thinks I'm taller) and
I'm about 165 or a little less on a good day. Good luck. June 26, 2002 was
my surgery date.

I am 5'11.5" and I started at 280. I am 2 1/2 years out and I am down
to 140. So yes, I really think that you can make your goal. Make sure you
exercise, drink water and eat plenty of protein. My only question is, at
2.5 years, how much protein should I be eating.
Good luck!
