Question:
FINDING SURGEONS IN NC THAT DOES LAP/RNY

I HAVE GONE THRU ALL OF THE PRE-OP REQUIREMENTS JUST TO FIND THAT THE FIRST SURGEON THAT I MET, DID ALL THIS PR-OP MESS DID NOT TELL ME THAT THEY NO LONGER TOOK CAROLINA ACCESS MEDICAID, I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMBER RIGHT NOW.cANN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME HELP?    — tpegues1 (posted on October 29, 2003)

Hi Tisha, have you tried checking out the list of surgeons here on obesityhelp.com? Also, you can check with your local hospitals, often they can refer you to someone practicing out of their hospitals doing that type of procedure. Hope this helps! Best wishes..... ((hugs))

Mr. Michael Melkonian in Charlotte does lap-rny. There are many of us that are members of this site that have had surgery with Dr. Melkonian, check us out. I had mine 2/23/03 and have lost 118 pounds.

Dr. Kenneth Mitchell in Pinehurst, NC was my surgeon. I would, along with all of his other patients, recommend him in a heartbeat. He has a great program that will follow you for years to come. He has a web-site where you can check out some info on him. It is www.pinehurstsurgical.com You will have to click on the bariatric surgery to bring him up. He and his staff are all excellent!! There is also a yahoo group made up of his patients. I can't remember the name of it right off hand, but i'm sure if you used Dr. Mitchell in the search, it would come up. I live in Cherryville N C and went to Hickory to have my surgery 8/13/2003 Dr Leland Cook at Hickory surgical clinic did mine they are great!go to this sight now and check us out.WWWHickorySurgical.com/forum and it is on this sight too. you need to read all of his patients testomonies they are fantasic.
