It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get a Med-Alert bracelet. I am
planning on one. I remember seeing something in the library a few months
ago about it. Have "No Blind Gastric Tube Placement" and
"RNY Bypass" put on it. The first one is because the pouch is
MUCH smaller than our normal stomach and sits higher too. Trust me, I have
shoved a lot of NG tube into someone's gut before. The second will let
medical personnel know why you can't have the blind g-tube. Hope that
helps.

I got a med alert tag to wear on a necklace and also got a tag at PetSmart
that I have on my key ring. You can pick which "dog tag" you
want, the style of engraving and type in what you want it to say. I chose
the heart because it was largest and I could fit the most information on
it. I also did one with my surgeon's name/number and primary doc
name/number as I have other cardiac precautions. That way I have the
information with me all the time, I'm rarely without my purse/car keys.
Good Luck with your surgery! HUGS, HUGS and more HUGS!
