Question:
Anyone had a stress test and did it stop you from having WLS?

I had a abnormal ekg and my dr. ordered me a stress test which I had today. My surgery is for Apr.17 and I'm so scared it will be postponed.Whoever has had one and the results will surely help to ease my mind.    — Debbie E. (posted on April 10, 2003)

I had one at the last minute less than a week before surgery. Its too make SURE surgery can be done safely. If you have a problem it will have to be controlled or fixed before surgery. If you are delayed it means your surgeon is concerned for your safety and looking out for you. Thats better than having a heart attack during surgery. Your almost there, try not to worry so. Most getting stress tests pass according to the cardiac doc who did the test.

I too had a abnormal stress test . Then I had a nuclear stress test it was abnormal too .. so they ordered a heart cath .. it was normal and I had surgery the next day .. Be glad they are taking all of these precautions. I was bummed out too .. it post poned my surgery by a week, but when I was okes , I felt much safer going in . That was 16 days ago , I had open RNY and I am doing fine and have lost 30 lbs :) Love Ruthie N SC
