Question:
How far from goal weight can you start looking into a Tummy Tuck?
I am 6.5 months post op right now. I have lost 130 lbs. I now weight about 250 lbs. My surgeon told me that I could lost up to 200 lbs from my starting weight. Which would put me around my personal goal weight of 170. Once I got down to 200#, could I start looking into getting my tummy tuck since I will only be 30 lbs away from goal?? Any input would help. I can't speak for everyone but I know that for me, my weight loss has
slowed down considerably in the last 2 months. In fact I have been on a
plateau for about the last month. I am now about 7 1/2 months out. I
know when the weight is really coming off, 30 pounds doesn't seem like
much. But when it slows down as much as mine has, every pound is a
milestone and is something I have to really work for. I still have 50-60
pounds to go and I know I will get there, but time goes much slower these
days. Good luck!

Congratulations! It isn't only your weight but also your shape that
determines your readiness for plastic surgery. As soon as the abdomen
loses it's fat and there is loose skin, you could be ready. Some people
carry weight here and lose it first, others lose it there last. I wouldn't
worry if you have 20-30lbs to go, considering the loss you have already
had. Good luck. JL
