Question:
has anyone tried Dr. Atkins pancake & waffle mix ?
They also have sugar free fat free carb free syrup. The pancake mix has 1.5 g total fat, 120 mg sodium, 6 g carbs, 3 g fiber, and 13 g protein?? It seems to me these would be great for us as well as a wonderful change. Please give me your opinions on this. Thanks in advance.. — Sharon1964 (posted on January 1, 2003)

Haven't tried the pancake stuff yet BUT I made the orange-cranberry muffins
this morning and they were wonderful so I can't imagine the pancake stuff
being bad.

Hi Sharon!
I have not tried the pancakes, although I will look for them now that I
know there are some...lol...but I thought I would pass on this little bit
of information....Atkins has a "Creamy Cinnamon Bun" breakfast
bar that is not bad at all! Ok, it's not the melt in your mouth cinnamon
bun that I would love to eat...(giggle), but it will work(smile)It has 12g
of Protien, only 150 cal (if a person can eat the entire bar), 220
Potassium, only 2g Carbohydrates and "0" Sugars!!! All in all, a
pretty healthy bar!!It also has Calcium, plus 19 other vitamins and
nutrients....(I sound like a commercial, yes?? lol)I get mine at Wal-Mart
USA!! (smile) Love and light,

Hi, this is what I do to the pancake mix. I don't like thick cakey pancakes
so when I make them with bisquick or with Dr. A I use buttermilk and sour
cream in them. It makes them more like crepes. My son will not eat anyone's
pancakes but mine. They are really good! If I only have sour cream then I
only use it or visa versa. Use it in place of a little liquid and these are
all things you can have. Hope this helps!!

The mix isn't bad - but not great flavored either. For what little I can
eat of a pancake I just eat a regular pancake cooked with a thinner batter.
Oh and for the syrup? For the cost your better off buying the Log Cabin
Brand of sugar-free syrup available in most grocery stores for half the
cost. Taste is comparable (actually the Log Cabin is a bit better IMO).
