Question:
I have a Dr.'s Appt. today, can anyone give me a heads up?
I am 3 months post op and having complications. I can not eat without having severe acid move up my pouch and lump into my throat, or drink without throwing up within 10 minutes, yet I am having bowel movements, although ever since this acid problem happened they have been yellow, I dont know why or what would cause this? I do not have any gas other than burping while throwing up. They prescribed medicine for me, a powerful antacid and a medicine that empties the stomach quickly, it didnt work, so they increased the dosage, still doesnt work. Today I go to the surgeon, according to the nurse the only thing left to do is x-ray studies and an Upper GI to see what could be causing me to throw up. This has been going on for over 4 weeks and it is very painful. My stomach is always sour, always upset, even when I wake up from (fasting for 8 hours during the sleep process). It has already resulted in dehydration for which I had to go to the emergency room. I am pretty sure I am dehydrated now as well. I have no idea what could be wrong with me. Does this sound familiar to anyone and if so, please let me know what was the diagnosis. I just want SOME sort of heads up before I head down there. I am used to complications, 1 week after my Open RNY I had a bowel obstruction which resulted in surgery. I know it cant be a bowel obstruction now because I have regular BM's. Please, someone help! PS. It is all in God's hands, no matter what! I am not worried or scared, but I am concerned, I just want to be healthy and normal. This is effecting my life!! — Stephanie B. I am wondering what your doctor said? It sounds to me like you may have a
blocked stoma, or a staple line disruption.
Good luck, I hope they diagnose you soon and get the problem fixed!
