Hi,
i'm almost 4 weeks post myself. the first couple of weeks post op, you're
hardly getting enough water in, and thus could initially lose some water
weight. as our pouch heals, we can handle drinking more water at a time,
and eventually when we can start drinking more water, we rehydrate our
bodies, sometimes enough to gain a couple pounds of the lost water weight.
that's all it is! and the bowel movement thing, it's really normal since
we're hardly having anything to produce any waste!! i'm almost 4 weeks
post and i have a bowel movement at the most 2 times a week. just drink as
much water as you can, and despite any plateaus, this HAS to work for us
all!! :)

It probably is a case of you retaining some water that you will no doubt
lose in the next week. My surgeon recommended taking something if I didn't
have a bowel movement for more than 2 days. I got some Citrucel at
Walgreens (sugar free, orange flavored); it's a soluble fiber powder that
you mix with water. You need to take the child's dose (1/2 packet in 8 oz
of cold water). I tried it and it worked within 6 hours. Haven't had a
problem since.
