Question:
Does anyone know of a support group in the Northeast Houston Area?

Brenda, I don't believe there is one in NE Houston. However, there is one
in NW Houston. The meetings are the 3rd Sunday of the month from 2-4 p.m.
at Cypress
Fairbanks Hospital, Women's Center, meeting room #1. You can also visit the
group on-line at
http://groups.msn.com/NWHBSG
There is another group in the Medical Center. HWLSSG is a support group
founded by individuals who have had Weight Loss Surgery. They are a
volunteer group, not affiliated with any one surgeon in the Houston area.
They have members who have had various weight loss surgery procedures.
There are no membership fees or dues. They meet at 1200 Binz, Suite 140.
The Building is on the southwest corner of Binz and Caroline Streets,
directly across the street from the Park Plaza Hospital North Tower. The
Education Center has an outside entrance facing Caroline Street. You can
reach them on-line at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HWLSSG/.
There is another on-line group that was started recently:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ossghouston/
I frequent that group often. It's so important to get good support so if
you have any questions, please feel free to eamail me.

There is not one in NE Houston.......... yet. I'm considering starting one
for East Harris County. I live in Highlands and fairly close to Baytown
and Dr. Spivak who does a lot of surgeries at San Jacinto Methodist. There
is HWLSSG meetings at Park Plaza downtown and then there is the NW group.
I can help you get in contact with either of the leaders if you like. Just
e-mail me at [email protected] for more info.
