Question:
Experiencing Discomfort Left side of Abdomin, just below ribs..

It feels like a "side ache" some time it's sharp. I thought maybe gas, but it starts immediately after I eat or drink. I am one year post-op, down 120#;s Open RYN - Hernia Repair in Feb (thought I would give for specifics to help). Has anyone experienced this...It has been going on for about 4 days now. I was thinking Gallbladder, but my pain was on the right.....

Your galbadder is on your right. I have the same pain in the same spot. When I asked my surgeon about it he said that it was a common complaint and that it goes away. Well, 3 months later and still here. I dont know what it is, my only guess is that that is where my drain tube thing was. I wonder if it is the scar tissue pulling from where your stomach basically attaches itself to abdominal wall.

I also experienced pain on both my right and left side right under my ribs about a month and a half ago. Let's just say I am now post-op for the second time-GALLBLADDER removal! I had it taken out about a week and a half ago and had many stones, including one that looked like it was the size of a small child LOL! Have your doc order an ultrasound. That's how they found my gallstones. PS Have had the pain for years but finally was taken seriously now that I am eighty five pounds lighter!
