Question:
How long after wls can you travel
My husband and I along with family are planning a trip to new Orleanes for the week of July 4-12. I was told that I may be able to have my surgery the last week of May. Do you think it will be safe to travel or should I not go at all. if I do go would driving be better than flying? — Subrina D. (posted on April 28, 2002)

I'm 6 1/2 weeks post op and I feel about 98%. Still a little tender in the
stomach region. I had RNY open on 3/12/02. I think if you don't have any
complications you will feel fine to travel. Please double check with your
doctor of course but otherwise have a nice trip.

I hope so! I will be traveling 10 days post-op on a plane from Florida to
Iowa.

I was 1 1/2 weeks post op and traveled by car from Houston to New Orleans
and back over a weekend. I did fine, but my mother had to do all the
driving. Just make sure you take your pain meds with you!
