Question:
Who has faster and longer lasting results? MEN or WOMEN???
I've heard men lose faster than women. Is this correct? Is there proof? PS. I'm a man. — Robby E. (posted on March 6, 2002)

I think that it is a matter of size. The larger you are the faster you will
lose.

Look at it this way. I had surgery Oct 94. My husband had his Oct 95. We
finished at the same time!!!! By about Feb or Mar 96. That includes
overshooting goal and some stabilizing time! Took him basically 4 months,
me over a year. Just ain't fair. And that's been consistent with our local
support groups, too. Men're just ZOOM, done.

Men usually do lose weight faster. It's because they have more muscle mass
than women. It takes more calories to sustain muscle than it takes to
sustain fat. As far as I'm concerned, it ain't fair, but it's true,
nonetheless.
