Question:
Has anyone used one of the Bari Buddy Bears advertised on this website?
I was just wondering how it helped you if anyone has tried them or if the pillows they give you in the hospital work just as good. — Debbi K. (posted on February 23, 2002)

Yes, those bears are nice to use. My surgerons office staff gave me one
after my surgery. They are made alittle different. On the backside of the
bear is very flat so that you can hold against you real snug. My youngest
daughter sleeps with it now. I am sure a firm pillow can work just as good.
Best of Luck to you!!!

I recieved a pillow as a gift, shaped like a stomach with a picture of the
RNY on it. It was flat, and came with a marking pen so the doctor and
staff could sign it. I am currently 9 weeks post op, down 73 pounds and
still sleep with it under my tummy. It really helped me with coughing and
setting up. Good luck...

Yes I bought the bari bear the minute my surgery was scheduled. Within
days it arrived at my door and I can't imagine what I would do without it.
It helped me when I had to cough but it also played a big part in my
hospital stay as a buddy to hug and sleep with. I am handing mine down to
my sister who will be having surgery this month. It also was a
conversation piece for the staff and other patients as I walked the halls
with it, sort of like a security blanket. I think you would find one
useful.
