Hi, My name is Pamela... Feel free to read my profile. I live in Northern
Alabama... I pretty much outlined what I have been through in the past 11
years.. I had a stapling back in 1991. If you have any further questions
please feel free to email me. I went to UAB - Medical Center. There is a
excellent doctor there that I researched thoroughly. We talked a lot about
leaks, and what he does on revisions is he just plans that you are going to
leak and takes all precautions so that he does not have to do surgery
again. I did not leak..... Would love to share more information with you
if you like.. My best to you....

My original RNY was 1994, revised in 2000. Staple line disruption. I am
in WA state. We have 2 docs here that have seen almost everything that has
been done in the bariatric world. I've brought them problems from all over
the country and so far, one or the other has revised people to a healthier,
more slender life than they had with their original surgery. It IS
possible to go on to the more modern surgeries & do very well. I do not
consider my first surgery's failure MINE, or my doc's. Of they several
people who have stayed with me for revision, I do not consider their failed
surgeries their problem, either. They just need to be fixed.
