Melissa,
Oh my! I was going to post this exact same question tonight. I too, am 7
weeks out and not lost a pound for 4 weeks. I hate eating now and was told
I was not eating enough...only 300 cal per day. I thought I was eating a
lot! I have tried to at more but it makes me miserable....how do you fit
in all the protein? Milk turned on me so that is out.
Maybe someone can help us....or maybe we are normal?

A lot of us go through a "food is just too much trouble" period.
We were well supplemented with protein & the vites, so they didn't
worry about our lack of interst period. As long as you keep the nutrition
coming in, the actual calories aren't that critical,. If your body doesn't
detect a shortage, it won't ask you for oddball things. So, plenty of
protein supps (no milk required), full complement of vites & minerals
and WATER, WATER, WATER. And then, when food calls your name, gradually
add it back into your life, as comfortable.

I am a pre-op, so I haven't experienced this first hand, but I know that if
you don't have enough calories, your body goes into a starvation mode. Your
motabolism drops and your body starts using protein and muscle stores
instead of fat stores (not a good thing). I have read/learned that a person
SHOULD have 800 calories a day, even to lose weight, less than that can
hurt you. I know that must be hard with the new tummy and new food
selections, maybe talk to a nutritionist? Good Luck!

I've been on a platau for almost 2 months. I've given up on it ending on
it's own. I've tried uping water, caleries, and protein with no luck.
Finally I'm trying the only diet pills that don't bother my heart, uping
protein, and water and avoiding all carbohydrates I can. Will it work?
Don't know. But I'm desparte. Plataus come and go, but this one won't. I
know exactly how you feel. :(

I'll be 8 weeks post op lap rny on Monday. I've lost 43 pounds. I went
for about 3 weeks without losing anything. I wasn't taking in enough
calories. I also got sick of milk. I switched to water but I couldn't
take that all the time. I'm now on 7-up. Check your calorie content and
make sure your at 800 for the day. Eat often.

Hello, sorry to say I don't have any advice but I did want you to know
you're not alone. I am 7 weeks out today and have been on the plateau from
h*** for 4 WEEKS. Not only have I not lost weight but I have gained and
lost the same 9 pounds during that time. I am depressed. I have spoken to
folks who just say to ride it out so that's what I'll do. Just wanted to
let you know I sympathize with what you are going through.
