Pick up a dictionary in each hand and with your arms dropped to your sides,
bend from side to side. Might as well put the book to good use.

This sounds weird, but do doggie kicks. Get on your hands and knees and
lift your legs to the side with knee bent. You will looks like a male dog
taking a pee. I said it sounds weird. But this is an exercise we did when
I was taking an exercise class and it really works. Hold your leg in place
for only a few seconds and then bring down. Repeat this approx. 10 times
each leg and just to it daily. Don't over do it because you can feel the
"burn".

As a certified fitness instructor, I can tell you that
"spot~reducing" doesn't work. As a matter of fact, if you try to
"spot~reduce", you may actually build UP muscle in the area you
are working!
It is better to work on cardio and lifting together,
meaning you have to spend the time getting your heart rate up for at least
30 minutes a day, 5x/week AND in addition, you should add in some
resistence exercises (lifting) to help you strengthen all other body areas.

My suggestion is to join a GOOD local gym and hire a trainer for
one or two sessions. After that, you'll be good to go on your
own...although personal trainers are GREAT if you can afford to have one
for 2~3 months! Good luck...email me anytime!
