Question:
Is Pastina okay to eat, if so, what can I mix with it?
I am 1 week post-op and wondering if Pastina would be okay to eat and if it is, what the heck can I mix in with it? — Laurie L. (posted on November 14, 2001)

Too many carbs. I wouldn't eat it until I reach goal.

I ate pastina when I was on the soft food stage. My doc said it was okay.
I mixed some low fat butter and skim milk. Of course I was only able to
eat 1-2 ounces of it. I'm almost 8 weeks now and don't eat it anymore. I
think it was okay during that stage. good luck!

Right now you are at the mush stage of the post op phase...so Pastina is a
good choice. However once you start to progess to different stages of your
journey you will want to make it more nutritious. Eventually you can add
some beans to it....or brown some chop meat and add some tomatoe sauce.
You will really need to get in your proteins. But for now bland is good.
Unitl you move onto the next stage enjoy your pastina with some butter
added maybe a tiny bit of salt. Good luck and feel good
