Mica, I had my sleep study done last Feb and the cost was 1700.00.
Luckily my insurance covered the whole thing. The referral will depend on
your insurance company, some require them others don't. Good luck....

Mica, I have Kaiser So. California and my Sleep Apnea test was covered 100%
so I think it just depends on the type of insurance you have. Good Luck!

My surgeon wanted my application/petition for WLS to be as complete as
possible, and thus ordered the sleep apnea test. I was in the hospital
over night.

A referral was required thru Oxford Liberty Insurance, and approved within
a day. The test is administered by technicians, who monitor your sleep
patterns throughout the night, and the results read by a specialized
doctor.

I got no bill from the hospital, but that's not saying it didn't go
directly to the insurance company. I'm not sure about that. I did receive
a bill from the specialized doctor for $7,500, of which I had to pay $148.

Good Luck!
