Question:
Pre-op testing for Dr James Colberg, Philadelphia PA
Hi, just wanted to know if anybody knows what type of preop testing Dr Colberg requires. I know every doc is different! His office is really backed up and I couldnt even get a consult until April 19th, and that appointment was made the begining of February! I just want to get a jump on my appointment settings and get the required time off. I will have no problem getting referrals, etc. If anyone knows, please post or email me. Thanx!!! — Lisa N. It really depends on the individual. A few of the test I did not have to
get but I believe everyone has to get blood work, glucose tolerance test,
chest xray, blood gases, abdominal ultrasound, upper GI. You should not
have the test prior to your appt because the results do not last that long
and you would have to repeat them and some of them you will not want to
repeat. Fortunately, my initial appt was early in the morning so I had my
glucose tolerance test(you have to be fasting), all of my blood work, blood
gases, and chest xray done right after my appt. You have to make an appt
for the upper GI and the ultrasound but you can schedule them both for the
same day, you have to be fasting so, it has to be done early in the morning
and you have to do the ultrasound first, then the upper GI. Depending on
your comorbidities, you may have to have other test done and you may have
to have a psych consult. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if
you have any question

Hi Lisa,
Dr. Colberg required me to have a several blood tests (all drawn at once),
a glucose tolerance, an arterial blood gas, an ultrasound of my stomach,
liver and gallbladder, an upper GI, a venous doppler of my legs. Then the
week or so before surgery Jefferson does a cross and type of your blood -
that can only be done there. Please feel free to contact me personally
