Question:
Naseua and dry heaving in the middle of the night.

About every 3 or 4 weeks I awake around 3am with naseua and dry heaves. I am 2.5 yrs post op and have been doing this for 10 mos or so. Any ideas?    — sandyinlex (posted on November 5, 2004)

Could it possibly be related to nasal drainage? I have this problem with nasal drainage getting in my pouch when I sleep sometimes. The fix for me is to take a benedryl before I go to bed.

Hi Sandra, Go to the Dr. It could be a number of things. When I had the problem it turned out to be h.pylori which is treated with antibiotics. I have heard that post nasal drip causes this as well. There could be any number of reasons. My best regards, Maggie B
