I really dont have an answer for you,I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts.... I am 11 months out and was at a stand still in my weight loss for 2 months... I didnt fret about it.... I know that platues are going to happen, and it will all work out. As for the sugar addiction... is there any way you can try your best to cut back on it? I know anything over 4 grams is going to make me sick, so I stay away from it all together. Try to snack on sugar free popcicles when you are craving something. I know that has helped me a lot.... If it hadnt been for the SF popcicles... I never could have made it this far! I am so sorry you are having a problem with cravings and all... My weakness is pizza, lasagna, ANYTHING like that... carbs carbs carbs.... I just try to take me a couple of bites if I am craving something like that, just to satisfy my taste, and that always helps.... If I DONT taste it, I will nibble on everything else in the fridge trying to keep from eating that one thing I want most..... I know I havent said anything to help you out, but I do feel for you and what you are going through! It is the toughest battle of my life! Just pray about it!

You already said what you need to do:) just up your protein and water and try to stay away from too many carbs (mostly at night) another lady on the board said NO WHITE AT NIGHT!!! in other words if you have to have carbs eat something healthy, but nothing heavy like pasta, white breads, You can also try doing protein drinks at least twice a day, I use Avant/Edge I get it at wal-mart,it is very good and not high priced either,, don't worry the pounds will drop off before you know it....

Don't be so hard on yourself. You have done great, 5 pounds from goal, that's pretty darn good, and 5 pounds over the holidays, that's not good, but not so bad either if you check right now. Just get back on track with the protein and water, limit the carbs to veggie and fruit for awhile and you'll be at goal in no time. Go Girl!

Just maybe your goal weight and the one your body has is two different things. We as a group since being MO all our lives we tend to want to go from one extreme to the other. Even someone in a real wold would be happy within five or ten pounds of societies goal weight. But for so long we have been on the other side loooking in on every one else we forget what reality is. You have made it to the point most people never reach. don't look at that other five or ten pounds but look at where you have come from and be thankful for that, And I think that if you can do that if you need to loose the other five or ten pounds you will. Be happy you have come A long way.

platueas happen, I have had many that last a while. I only lost weight one week a month at the most since early on . You will get there. Hey, you are like the rest of the world, fighting that 10 pounds. Isn't it a lot nicer than fighting 100 pounds? (my start weight 260 - 125 now 135.)

after looking at you rprofile and seeing your BMI @23.8, WOW! that is fabulous. You are not even over weight like me, I am over 25 still, I like what my doc said when I asked him about goal weight. He said "lets see what is a comfortable weight for your body and where it settles in." at the time it was NOT a satisfactory answer, but it did make me realistic. Now I am glad I didn't have a specific weight in mind other than less than 200.

As a pre-op, I did the Atkins diet. It took me 4-5 days of no sugar/carbs (except for salad greens) to feel normal. During those days, I was light-headed, dizzy, sort of felt like I was in a "fog." After the "withdrawal" period, I really did start to feel better and didn't crave carbs/sugar nearly as much. Atkins says the cravings will go away almost totally, but that wasn't the case for me. Anyway, good luck on "detoxing." You've done great, and have a lot to be proud of. Lap RNY, 9/11/03, 254/192/???
