Question:
Recipe for dietbetic Hot Mulled Cider?
I'd love some recipes for Hot Mulled Cider. Both the regular way, and if there is an easier way to make some quick. Thanks. — Danmark (posted on December 19, 2003)

Ther is a sugar free hot cider mix by Alpine. It comes in packets like hot
cocoa. I know they have it at Meijer and Walmart, on the iced tea aisle.
It costs around $3.00 a box.

when i was little my grandma used to make me something she called spiced
tea. i loved it so much she would always make me up some mix in a cute jar
for christmas so i could have it whenever i wanted. it is just equal part
tang(i guess you could use the sugar free) and instant tea crystals. you
drink it hot in coffee cups. since the sugar free tang comes in little tubs
and makes 2 quarts prepared you will also have to use the same amount of
tea crystals that equals 2 quarts and mix together. if you were having a
party you could put it in a coffee urn or make some up and keep it in your
frig and pour it into coffee cups and microwave whenever you wanted some.
because the sugar free tang comes in tubs it really isn't a good idea to
put it in gift jars because the mix will settle. this really is an easy
easy good cider.

In case you can't find the earlier post, here's the recipe for the WLS
adapted orange Russian spice tea:

Orange Russian Spiced Tea

2 tubs sugar-free Tang

1 C. of Splenda (or fructose)

3 oz. instant decaffeinated tea, no sugar added

1 pkg. unsweetened lemonade mix (such as Wyler's or KoolAid)

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Mix all ingredients in an airtight jar and shake it up. For the unsweetened
tea, 3 oz. of the dry tea is measured as half of 3/4 of a cup on a glass
measuring cup. Add 1-2 tsp. of the dry mix to a cup of boiling water and
stir. More Splenda or fructose can be added if you want it sweeter. Mix it
up and try a cup and see if you want more sweetener or not.

This is not a cider recipe but it's yummy. 1 alpine apple cider packet w/
a teaspoon of sugar free carmal syrup. Kinda like a hot carmel apple...I
got the idea from Starbucks, they make one but too much sugar!
