Question:
If our bodies only absorb about 30 grams protein per meal or supplement...
How much time should I allow to pass between my protein supplements (30g) and my next meal for the potential maximum protein absorbtion? FYI.. My doctor already encourages the 30 minute "wait" window between foods and liquids (both before and after) Thanks in advance!!! — Dena C. (posted on May 12, 2003)

I do one 30 grams shake in the morning and one 30 gram shake before bed.

I'm not sure for fact, but I would suggest two hours. A main reason for
that personal preference is you shouldn't be eating too close together
anyway. I have 3-4 meals, plus a protein drink and protein bar everyday, so
I eat about every 2-3 hours, usually never less than that b/c I'm still
full or I don't want to feel like I'm grazing. Goodluck to you!

Can anyone point me to studies showing that we can only absorb 30g of
protein at a time? Thanks.
