Question:
Am I the only person that has not lost 100 pounds in the first seven months?

I guess I am a little discouraged. Every before and after picture I see posted has lost 100 pounds or more by their 6 month aniversary. — Rosemarie D. (posted on March 6, 2003)

Please don't do that to yourself. I have seen MANY people who have had wls that have lost 100 lbs at the 1 year mark. Your weight loss at 7 months is great!! You just can't compare yourself to others losing weight because everyone's body loses differently and we all haven't had the same exact surgery. Relax and follow your surgeon's instructions and you should continue to lose just fine. Congratulations!!

It depends on how much you have to lose, what kind of surgery you had, ect.. ect... We are all different. I'll be lucky to have lost 50lbs by my 6th month. And that's ok with me! If I never lost another pound, I'd still be thrilled!

Hey Rosemarie. You are not the only one. I will be 7 months tomorrow and I am still not at 100 pounds yet. Close, but not there. I have been loosing EXTREMELY slow the last couple months. Then all of a sudden in the last week I have lost 7 pounds. I guess it just depends on your body! Keep your chin up, we are gonna get there too, just a little slower.. :)

I know it's hard, but try not to compare. We are all so different in so many ways, so our bodies lose at different rates. it's very common for many people not to reach "100 lbs mark" until after a year or so, so don't get discouraged! I reach 100lbs lost at 8 months, and couldn't be happier. Sure some have lost faster, some slower, but I know I never could have done this w/o WLS, and am just so thankful. I think any weight loss is a success, whether 100 lbs. in 6 months or 100lbs in 2 years. Goodluck to you!

What did your surgeon say? Mine told me up front 10 month to 1 year to lose 100 pounds. Now I did do it faster, but out of the 30 people in my local support group, only 2 have lost 100 before 7 months. You are NORMAL !!

rosemarie, this is from your profile: "I went snowmobile riding and tubing! It was great. My kids think that they have a new mother." you wrote about how the last time your family when to vail you couldn't do anything, and now you're out having a great, active time. you have improved your health and your quality of life. why in the world are you discouraged because of numbers on a scale?
