Question:
Did you have lip first
I have had consultations with 2 different plastic surgeons and of course what they wanted to do was diferent. For example for the stomach, one said basically the anchor incision and the other said just the hip to hip. I think the anchor would help me more. For my arms and legs one said he thinks that first he should lipo the arms and knee area(my thighs fell to my knees and I have pockets of fat and skin hanging at my knee area). He said that by using lipo on the arms first the incision could be smaller. The other Dr. said no to the lipo on the arms--just use the incision and for the legs he just wants to cut a section of fat and skin out in the knee area. How do we know which one is best? Has anyone else used lipo first on their arms? — jan M. (posted on January 24, 2003)

I had lipo on my arms first and my arms are MUCH smaller then before. Lipo
will shrink the arms and then if you have excess skin, it can be cut off
about 4 months after the lipo was done. As far as the tt, I did NOT do the
anchor and I had a FULL abdominoplasty (muscle tightening). I didn't need
the anchor cut. If you have a doctor who wants to cut you from stem to
stern and another doctor is telling you that you don't need it, you need to
check out a 3rd doctor. Personally, I had the same thing happen to me and
I went with the doctor who just did the hip to hip incision and couldn't be
more happy with the results. I've found that some Plastic Surgeons will
just automatically say "anchor cut" because you were fat, even if
you really don't need it. RUN from those doctors. They are from the
"old" school. Why would you want to trade all of that weight
loss for a ton of scars??
