Question:
What do you do?

A few days ago I asked for names of good plastic surgeons. Someone gave me the name of Dr. Lockwood in Overland Park (Kansas City area), KS. He sounded fantastic!! I called them and of course they won't mess with insurance approval. What are we supposed to do? I need to have either an abdominoplasty or lower body lift, brachioplasty, and have my legs done and need a breast lift. I can't afford to do this without insurance approval. I asked them if they knew of a good plastic surgeon who does work with insurance, of course they don't. I am having a very dificult time finding a good surgeon and even a more difficult time finding someone who will deal with insurance approval. Is there a way to get the insurance approval ourselves and then going to a plastic surgeon. Does anyone have any suggestions. I live in Kansas and know that I will have to travel somewhere else to get the surgery. I've lost 133 lbs and still want to lose another 35 lbs. before I have any surgery. I'm starting my search now because it looks like it is going to take a while to find a surgeon who will work with me. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.    — jan M.
