Question:
Question concerning web sites

This question is off the subject of WLS. Anyway, last year I paid Homestead $25 to put my WLS pages on. (Regular $30). I wanted to let others know what WLS can do. Anyway, now they want to charge $70 to renue (due around Sept 3rd)! I was prepared for $30, but will not cough up $70. Does anyone know any place I can get a web site (to transfer these) for $30 or less? I was hoping to keep my WLS web pages up for others to enjoy (hope they enjoy them). But now it looks as if they are going down in less than a week. I can't get Homestead to respond by email so it does'nt look good. Anyone have any good hosts out there? Thanks.    — Danmark (posted on August 30, 2002)

Daniel -- I don't know how much space you need, but you can get 15Mb from Geocities for free. They also have premium packages with more space.

www.dreamwater.com is really good. All you give is the top one inch of your page for advertisements. Not bad. Don't forget to login to your account once a month. I would go to your web site, hit file | save, and save your pages to your hard drive. Then you upload them somewhere else when you can locate a free service you like.

I went with yahoo geocities, I could have had a free webspace but I am paying for a premium space because it gave me more space and options plus I did not want any annoying ads or popups in my site for my visitors. also it is very user friendly with wizards etc. if you want to go view mine to get an idea go to http://www.gracem97.com or you can access through my profile. also the best thing about yahoo geocities is great customer support and you get a free domain name with some of the packages

I agree with the last poster. Geocities is great, and easy to use. Plus, they don't seem to notice if you link more than one account together. (shh, don't tell- I'm a poor college student ;) ) You can check out my site and see if it seems like it has enough room. www.geocities.com/toolgrl150/WLS.html . I was going over the allotted capacity for a while, but I've been able to rearrange it so it works ok.

Hi... most internet service providers give you free webspace with your account. Mine for example...comcast.net give me I think 20 megs of space. Some give 10 some maybe 5 megs. Unless your site is really heavy with graphics...most web pages can't possible use more than 5. Why don't you contact your provider to see if they do indeed give you webspace with your account. And they will probably be more than happy to send you directions on how to set this up.
