Question:
Anyone hear gurgling sounds after 1 yr postop?

I have recently started hearing strange gurgling sounds in my abdomin just under my left rib cage. They occur mostly during and after eating. i'm still following all the rules...small qty, no drinking with meals, low fat, and no sugar. I have this horrible image of my pouch leaking into the old part of my stomach...help!    — Teri D. (posted on August 6, 2002)

I gurgle on my left side, too. I had some stomach adhesions and had to have surgery 10 months after surgery and thought that the noise would quit. It didn't. I still grumble like crazy on my left side. It seems like all of my intestines are pushed to that side now and really is kind of weird that it doesn't ever rumble anywhere else.

8 yrs and I still gurgle sometimes. I never know what will cause it, since it doesn't seem to be consitent. I can USUALLY count on gurgling at meetings, in offices or other quiet places, though! LOL!

Yes, it is interesting and I listen with a stethoscope sometimes. Get to know your pouch personally! LOL

Recently, I have been hearing a lot of gurgiling sounds. I think in my case it is related to gas in my stomach and intestines.

I'm 2 years out and I STILL hear gurgling sounds when I lie on my left side. You learn to live with it--not life-threatening, kinda like "fluffing.' (our word for fart)
