Question:
I HAVE 2 WEEKS TO GO AND AM FILLED WITH ANXIETY AND HOPEFULNESS.

I prayed, reviewed why I was doing this, made sure I communicated with the family and friends I needed to, talked to post-ops for support and allowed myself to dream about the future. I had so much peace about the decision I fell asleep (without drugs) waiting for them to come and get me for surgery. Best wishes to you on your journey.

Been there done that:( Read my profile and attend support group meetings. Take a post op to dinner, hear there stories. Look at the photos here before and after. Now try to relax, soon you will be a post op. I was like you pre op and felt I would never wake up, had funeral planned, everything.. I did well, so will you! POST OP IS THE PLACE TO BE!

I just had surgery June 12th so I remember all to well how you feel. I just prayed and remembered the reasons why I was having surgery. I also went out "window shopping" for smaller clothes that I wanted to wear when I lost weight! Hang in there....we've all been through it. But at 6 weeks post I can tell you its the best thing I've ever done!

I made a list of all the things I want to do when I'm thin. Some of them will be easily achieved some day, some will take more time. The list is a great way to keep your eyes on the prize... good luck.

I completely understand!!!!! I am 3 weeks post-op and can't stand the wait! I have doubts about the the surgery, doubts about the testing beforehand, about the insurance....you name it! BUT I do like to think of all those things that I have never done because I have been heavy all my life. Start a list of things that you you will be able to do without all the weight and a list of things that you will never have to worry about again (it will be a long one!). Good luck and see you on the other side!

Owe boy dont we all know how you feel. I just kept telling myself that I was doing the right thing, and I talked to alot of people who had the surgery and it helped a great deal. Remember and always keep in mind, how wonderful you will feel when you lose the weight. Go to the before and after photo's and look at all those wonderful people...My thoughts and prayers are with you hon... Good luck with your surgery!

Hi! I'm actually one day pre-op. Yup, my surgery is tomorrow. It's funny, for the past several weeks I have been on an emotional roller coaster. However, now that it's here, the jitters are gone. I know I am doing it for the right reasons and all my family and friends are behind me. Hang in there! You'll achieve your peace, whether it be before or after surgery.

I am also 2 weeks pre-op. My surgery is scheduled for August 12. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I just want my day to be here. I have been window shopping, working on a scrap book, walking, walking, walking, and spending my days here on obesityhelp.com. Good luck to you. We will be post-ops soon. Lisa
