Question:
I'm 6 wks post-op, on pureed foods, everything makes me sick and vomit. Any answers?
I'm becoming lactose intolerant, there's got to be more than protein shakes. Baby food? Can't touch it. There's got to be more I can eat on phase 3. Willing to try anything! — Lezley J. (posted on June 6, 2002)

Put anything you like, ie: boiled eggs, tuna, chicken or even beef, in the
blender. I loved underwood deviled ham spread and egg salad during my
first weeks home. Good luck.

I had similar problems. I found out that I was not chewing enough and
taking bites that were too large. You just had an operation on your stomach
and it's still tender. Relax eat slowley and if the problem persists call
your DR.--- Good Luck

You can mix your protein powder with water instead of milk, which I prefer.
You can also mix it with sugar free pudding or yogurt.

egg drop soup, crackers with tuna or egg or ham salad chewed very well,
will work. At 6 weeks, I was well into solid foods. You may want to try
soft solid foods, like eggs, well cooked soft veggies, instead of pureed.
I felt enormously better when I went on solids, at about 3 weeks out.
