Question:
Anyone had very, very long periods?

I have had my period for 2 weeks now. I missed one birth control pill, doubled up the next day and it doesn't appear to be stopping. I am always light, 4 days max. Is this WLS related?    — heather C. (posted on April 12, 2002)

After my surgery, I had my period for 5 months! My doctor had to give me both shots and BC to control the bleeding. I also had suffered from PCOS and had not had a period in close to three years- so my cycle was way out of wack. I am now 15 months post op and have perfectly normal cycles- for the first time in my life! I do know that surgery will affect your cycle. But if you are still concerned, call your doctor.
