Question:
Is Mederma or Mepiform better at reducing scars?
My doctors office reccomends Mepiform (for burn victims). I noticed many reccomending Mederma. Just wondering people's thoughts on both. — heather C. (posted on March 18, 2002)

Is your scar keloid? If so, there's not much you can "apply"
that will help. If it's just red, I used Scargo to fade it. Mederma made
me burn & peel, so I didn't care for that. If the scar is keloid (red,
ropey, thick, raised?), your local dermatologist can do a series of
injections that will make it lie down fairly flat and then you can treat
the color.
