Question:
When did any of you start sleeping on your stomach again?
I always slept on my stomach until I had the surgery. I am just about 6 weeks post op and still feel uncomfortable. Has anyone had this same thing at 6 weeks? I appreciate any input. Thanks. — Marlene H. (posted on September 24, 2001)

i am just six weeks post op now and started sleeping on my tummy and side
about a week ago. Sometimes it is comfortable and sometimes it isn't..i use
alot of pillows though so it takes most of the pressure off of my tummy. Do
whatever you feel comfortable doing.

I had surgery (LAP) on 6-12-01, and to be honest I have slept on my stomach
since the day of surgery. I did use alot of pillows. I think we all have
different comfort levels and when it feels right for you, you'll know it..
Good Luck!!

I am 6 weeks post op, too, and I have been sleeping on my side and stomach
since about 2 weeks post op. When I went to have my staples out (I had Lap
RNY) a week post op they told me I could sleep however I wanted - as long
as it was comfortable. At first I couldn't always sleep on my side or
tummy because of the horrible gas pains (ugh!) but now I sleep like I never
had surgery.

I was sleeping on my stomach the second night in the hospital after my RNY
lap. I also slept on my stomach the night of my breast reduction and lift.
I just roll over in my sleep and there's not a lot of choice. My surgeon
told me I shouldn't be sleeping on my stomach when he woke me up but it
didn't seem like it was a critical thing. I'm four month post op and doing
fine so apparently it didn't hurt me to do it. Good luck. Sherry

It took me about 3 weeks before I could sleep on my side or stomach. I
wasn't in pain, but just too sore to roll over. I had open rny on October

I started sleeping on my side at about 2 weeks and just started sleeping on
my stomach this week. It hasn't bothered me too much, just a little
soreness.

I am just a little over 4 weeks post-op and have been able to sleep on my
stomach since I got my g-tube out at 2 weeks. It is uncomfortable without
my binder on so I always wear it to bed and most of the day too!!
