Question:
BC/BS of TN blue preferred..anyone know the weight limit???

I AM GETTING AN INDIVIDUAL PLAN AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT WEIGHT I NEED TO BE AT OR UNDER TO GET COVERAGE...BMI IS 44.8 I AM 5'5 AND 268 POUNDS...IF THE LIMIT IS 250 MAYBE I CAN LOSE DOWN TO THAT,,HELP!!!    — [Anonymous] (posted on August 24, 2001)

hey, i am very glad i saw your post. i am a former employee of BCBS TN. as far as i know there is a written exclusion in all of their policies against WLS. i cant tell you how many people i saw denied for this very reason. you can appeal for years and they will tell you the same thing. now maybe there is something different, i havent worked there in almost 1 year. but, i dont know how it would have changed. please email me if it has. i would like to pass that info along. have you asked yet if their individual plans will cover WLS? if you have any questions please feel free to email me!!
