Marybeth, I'm not sure if you are aware, but you can get additional info on
any surgeon listed on this site. Click on find a doc, browse the list, then
select your state and then the name of the surgeon. In addition to other
info, you may see AMOS members' opinions of that doctor. Hope this helps.

I know that the people that work in her office are rude and incompetent. I
called over a week ago to request an appointment and they wouldn't set up a
date until I fill out and mail back paperwork. Prob is that they never
send the paperwork.

I just went to the informational meeting 8-7-03. Did not get to meet the
doctor because she was in trauma surgery but did get to meet the clinical
nurse who took us through the paperwork. You MUST HAVE: letter of medical
necessity and any other blood work lab work x-rays and diet history faxed
to the office before they will make an appointment with you. Be as
thoughrough as possible and fax it in. Then they will call you. Don't call
them unless you want to be frustrated all the time. Office personell do
come off as abrupt and cold but they do know what they are doing. If you
have ever been to the big city of Miami....everyone there seems to be cold
and uncarring. Maybe its just the attitude. If you are looking for hand
holding and smile in your face, this is not the place for you. This is in
your face do as you are told and you get a surgeon who knows you inside and
out.
