Question:
Ladies, will menstral cramps decrease post-op?
Since I gotten heavier and older :) I have had an increase in cramping in the beginning of my cycle, will this diminish as I lose? I have had 5 pregnancies. — [Anonymous] (posted on June 16, 2001)

I have the same issue as the previous poster...Mine got worse. Before I
*never* had a cramp. No moodiness, anything, my body just did it's thing
and I went on. Now I'm the PMS queen straight from the pits of hell :((

When I was obese, I didn't have cramps because I didn't
ovulate and menstruate. So, I now have cramps. But, I also
can now exercise which really helps diminish cramping. So,
there is a silver lining:)

Mine are much worse, sad to say. I have always had problems with both pms
and cramps, and I was hopeful that they would ease up when I lost weight,
but no such luck. I am also 50 years old and menopausal, so that probably
has alot to do with it. Exercise helps a bit....so do the new Tums I have
been taking, they are for pms (yup. that's what it says on the label! why,
I have no clue.) Anyway, the pms was better, but the cramps were horrendous
and they lasted the entire five days. I think one of the reasons I seem to
be suffering so much is that I can no longer take ibuprofen for them, which
is the only thing that seemed to help. Tylenol is useless on cramps. If
anyone can suggest a pain med for cramps that rny patients can take, I
would really like to hear it!
