Do what Carole said , and add a zinc lozenger or 2 a day, that will help
boost your post op healing also. And the most important things you can do
to prevent colds is DO NOT rub your
evey with your fingers or put your hands on your face. Wash your hands
thoroughly and don't use the phone after anyone else uses it unless you
clean it first! I took lysol to work with me and sprayed everything I came
in contact with.Good luck and may God smile down on you .

Richard,
Congrats on the upcoming surg! I am scheduled for April 18th. And you
guessed it I got a stinking cold :(
I felt my cold coming on, on Sun.
and Mon I called my PCP and had him call me in some rx's to my pharmacy, he
put me on 7 day regim of amox. and gave me a perscrip for claritin. I also
called my surgeon's nurse to inform her of this and she said I done the
right thing, after 5days on the antibiotic I still feel
"mucassy" (I don't think that's even a word? :) ), so I hope I
can get it out of my system befor the big day, good luck to ya, you may
want to see about getting on antibiotics to be sure (check with your
surgeon first tho).

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. It will be my year anniversary. I
am half the weight I used to be. I've lost 120#. I feel great. Give your
surgeon a call. I'm sure there are precautionary meds he can give you. Good
Luck, you are in my prayers -- April 17th is a GREAT DAY !!!

Hi,
I had my surgery Jan 25th..smack dab in the middle of cold/flu season. My kids all had colds 1 week before my surgery and I was
paranoid. I took coldeeze.and Im
telling you that stuff worked..I alos drank lots of fluids and got a lot of
rest. Oh I WASHED MY HANDS CONSTANTLY. All of it worked and I made it to
surgery with no cold..so good luck
and make sure you rest :)
