Question:
Does starting BMI affect percentage of excess weight lost?
Does starting weight have anything to do with how much weight is generally lost? For example would it be easier for a person with 100 pounds to lose to get down to their ideal weight than a person with 200 pounds to lose or does the body start resisting weight loss once a certain percentage of excess weight has been lost, regardless of how many pounds the person has lost? — Amy K. I read somewhere that overall, we can expect to lose 70%. However if you
are mildly morbidly obese (under 300), you can expect 80-90%. Conversely
if you are over super morbidly obese (400+), you can expect 50-60%. Sorry
I cant remember where I read it.

I suspect this to be true. My friend and I had surgery with same doc. He
predicted that I would lose all my excess weight but that she would not.
She weighed a lot more than me.
