Hi I just asked my nutritionist that and she said that there is no way
really of knowing. Kinda makes sense. I do know that is does depend upon
how much intestine is bypassed.

How much you absorb of WHAT? Of sugar, 100%. Of protein, iron, calcium,
A, D, E (& therefore your fats 'n oils), zinc and B12? Only a portion,
as they (and their calories) are lost with the lower stomach. I said THEY,
but of course, I mean a portion. And that portion will be as variable as
each person's own intestinal make up combined with the surgery they've been
given. I count 0 absorption on those items and supplement them fully. I
get labs frequently to monitor what I'm getting. Easier to adjust up or
down than it is to rebuild from nothin'.
