Question:
Has anyone had WLS and Tummy Tuck at the same time?

I am planning on having RNY in the coming weeks and was wondering if anyone had a tummy tuck (partial) done at the same time. I already have a "apron" that I wouldn't mind having removed NOW! Is this possible? Thanks.    — Carrie S. (posted on March 22, 2001)

Surgeons here don't want to do it.. too risky both are considered "MAJOR" surgeries and it puts the body into too much shock. I've heard of it being done.. I don't think it would be worth it. Heavy people don't heal well (at least the fat doesn't heal well) so you are better off to have it done seperately when your wait is down. Talk w/ a plastic surgeon or a few at least to find out what they think. Just seems to risky to me.
