Question:
Could I qualify for medicaid?
I am 24, married, no children, make 6.25/hr, he makes 6.45/hr, we both work full-time so my question is, would I qualify for medicaid even though I have no children and we both make above minimum wage. I have no insurance and I'm not sure what to do. I have an application for blue cross/blue shield, but I can't really afford $150/month worth of extra bills..unless I have to, I guess. — heather D. Heather,
Unfortunately, I don't think you would qualify for Medicaid. When my
husband and I applied, neither one of us was working AND we have 2
children. And the only reason we were able to get it was because we
applied for State Financial Assistance (TANF-temporary assistance for needy
families). And they only give that to families with children. You may try
to call your local Social Services, but I think that the fact you have no
children and work will disqualify you. Sorry to be the bearer of bad
news...Hugs~
