Question:
I know you are too uncomfortable to read, I don't have a portable cd player...
but was wondering if there is a tv in the hosp. room. Thanks, — L G. (posted on September 23, 2000)

I think that most hospitals will have tv's in the rooms but sometimes the
service for them has to be paid in advance on a daily basis. Fortunately,
the hospital I was in had paid tv and I didn't have to pay any extra for
the service. It wouldn't hurt to call the hospital ahead of time and ask
about the service. Another suggestion tho'...You might not have a portable
cd player, but if you can get a small cassette player (with or without
headphones, like a walkman), get some books on tape at your local library.
I've "read" alot of exciting best-sellers while driving to and
from my way to work and now while I'm working out on the treadmill and on
the stationary bike at the gym. You can switch to music when you want to,
but listening to the books really keeps your interest. Good luck and God
bless. cj

All the hospital rooms I've been in have a TV. Just a note, though. If
you share a room, please remember your roommate may not share your taste in
programming or tolerance for volume level, or be in pain or trying to
sleep. I found the TV mostly annoying - best to make sure the TV is kept
very low.
