I don't have an answer for you but you aren't alone with
the leg problem. I'm 9 months post op and had the problem
before surgery too. Anyone out there know the answer?

I have no idea what the itchy fingertips might be, but my daughter has
restless leg syndrome. There is much information about this on the
internet and many different treatments. We had no idea there was even a
name for it, we just happened to mention one time to her physician and
found out there are millions who suffer with this. My daughter has had it
for years. I use to lay in her bed with her and rub her legs so she could
go to sleep (we thought it was from her heavy dance schedule). She gets
alot of relief with her treatment - medication. Hope this helps.

Ann, Hi! I don't think it's in your head. When I used to be on the
medicine depakote I was always itchy. That is a real side effect to some
medicines. It should subside if you go off of whatever you're on. As for
the the restlessness in your legs that could be depression because back
when I was a total depressive I would pace and have restlessness and even a
crawling sensation in my legs. It is dreadful and that may be taken care
of with some prozac or the like. First I would go to my family doctor then
address the restless legs. Best of luck-hope you get rid of these nasty
syptoms very soon.

Ann, The itching could be medication or just a change in your eating
habits everything is changing. I've noticed that when I went on a very
strict diet that my skin. changes in appearence and dries out I use a good
body cream. Even my feet will dry & crack this helps very fast &
stops the itching. My pharmacy suggested I use quinine to help my restless
legs take one at bedtime. These also work for leg cramps. GOOD LUCK!

Have you checked your blood sugar? What I thought was itching was actually
more of a burning/numbing sensation and turned out to be neuropathy in my
hands (also occurs in the feet and legs, which is why they tell you to take
care of your feet when you have diabetes). Anyway, check your blood sugar
for a few days to make sure you are not spilling sugar for some reason (My
blood sugar was high after surgery although I wasn't eating much, but it's
better now and I no longer have to take insulin!)
