July 24, 2000
#9 - "How do you like me now"...I would purchase at least one and
possibly two. $10-$15 per shirt and, yes, I'd spend the extra $5 for the
WLS AMOS logo. I suggest Med to 3X. cj
— cj T.
July 24, 2000
(a) I vote for #3 I'm a BIG Loser and #7 Sometimes losing is really
winning... (that's cute)
(b) 20.00
(c) Yes
(d) That's hard some members will be still pre-op and may want
one..maybe onesize fits all, I think they consider that to be a XL to 1X..
However some t-shirt places will do any size from S to XXL all same
price..
— Victoria B.
July 24, 2000
#2 or #17 for me. And you know how we always want to TELL someone about
WLS? The "obesityhelp.com" would cetainly draw any interested
comments, huh? At least, a way to advertise without harm AND support Eric
in the process. Make mine blue, please, size S. And hurry!
— vitalady
July 24, 2000
18 for the slogan and I would purchase a few different ones and I would pay
10 to 15 dollars, yes for WLS I don't know what AMOS stands for yet, size
very big to small.
— Betty B.
July 24, 2000
#12
a- I would purchase any of the above sayings
b- about $10-12 each depending on quality of shirt
c- yes
d- all s,m,l, xl, xxl, xxxl, at least (because some of our members are xxxl
when they are in the throws of loosing having started at much larger
sizes.....
— bad
July 24, 2000
I like slogan # 2, I would pay up to $20.00 if it encluded in color.
I would start with size small, medium, large, 1x,2x,3x,4x,5x,6x
— Lynne J. M.
July 24, 2000
a) 2, 9, 10, 13, 15, 17!
b) anywhere between $12-$18 depending on the quality
c)YES! spread the word!!!
d) probably Medium-largest they make!
— Tammy P.
July 24, 2000
a) yes I would buy one (or more.) I prefer 9, 12, 14, 19, 20, and/or 17
b) Any price if they're good and in my price.
c) see b, above
d) Well, I wear an 8x for the time being, so right now I'd you to make
8x's... My suggestion would be to go to 10x just for blanket coverage (no
pun intended... really)
— Frank B.
July 24, 2000
I vote for #18 I also would pay up to 25.oo for one I also like #19-#20. I
think up to a 5-6X
— Kimberly B.
July 24, 2000
13,14,7 A-would purchase numbers listed B-depends on quality, maybe
about $15 to $25. C-Yes D-Make sure they are long enough (like to cover
that apron) and all sizes, you'd probably want medium to large for those
that are already at goal, and I would think up to at least a 6X for those
just starting out. Also, make sure you have some short sleeved ones (for
those of us in Arizona) and in some dark colors too. Hey, maybe even a
sweatshirt would be nice.
— Carolyn S.
July 24, 2000
I would by #5. $10-$15. I wear a L, but many wear up to 10X......your
call on that one, Eric!
— [Deactivated Member]
July 24, 2000
I like WE ARE HERE...WE UNDERSTAND OBESITYHELP.COM....I would pay up to $20
and I would pay the extra $5 for the WLS AMOS Logo. I think u should have
sizes up to 3X-4X
— Laurie B.
July 24, 2000
a.) I liked numbers 2,4 & 14 best.
b.) Not sure.
c.) Yes.
d.) Small through X-large.
— livnliter
July 24, 2000
you don't have to go it alone --wins my bet. also the cost should aroung
10-15 dollars depending upon size wich should run up to 8x and yes i would
pay an extra for the logo. alos eric i received an e-mail asking for
assist but my computor skills are very sad --i;ll do what ever i can
though..TJ
— TJ J.
July 24, 2000
#7 Sometimes losing is really winning-Obesityhelp.com
B $15.00
c Yes
D L XL XXL
— Mindy M.
July 24, 2000
I think in terms of promoting the AMOS website, #17 sums it up very nicely.
There are lots of good slogans here - all very positive. However, there
are many people on the AMOS site who have NOT had gastric bypass surgery
and who are still struggling with loosing weight. The ones like "I'm
a Big Looser" and "Have You Seen the Rest of Me" do not
apply to those still struggling. I think it would be nice to have a
variety of shirts available in a very wide variety of sizes in and around
the $20 price range.
— jeff P.
July 24, 2000
I like 4, 7, 13, and 14, and 18 the best as far as slogans! I would
probably buy about three of them, in the $10-$15 range. I would pay extra
for color logo. Sizes should go up as high as possible! I've RARELY been
able to find a T-shirt that fits me, and my highest weight was 310#,
5'2". The bigger, the better - up to 8x maybe??! :)
— Lisa P.
July 24, 2000
# 2 if it read: I'm half the woman I used to be.
$15.00 if it were LONG enough for a night shirt and in a color other than
white -- purple? Something that you can't see the fat through.
I wouldn't want a logo since I'm not telling anyone about my surgery.
I like T-shirts I can sleep in... long.
I WOULD like a tank type top to wear to excercise. Black? I would pay extra
for the logo on that and would like it to say something like: "Work it
Off" or "I'm Melting" ... I wouldn't mind advertising at the
gym. When tank tops get too big you can always wear a smaller one under it.
That would be a great thing to have.
— blank first name B.
July 24, 2000
a)#2 & #20 I think are cool.
b) ?
c)yes
d)medium, large, X-large, XX-large, XXX-large.(small? I only wish!!!)
— Amy A.
July 24, 2000
I like #14 best of all and then #2. (b) $12-$15 is reasonable (c) yes (I
am not sure what AMOS means.) (d) Small to the largest sizes available.
— Renee C.
July 24, 2000
Eric, you sweet thing. I don't know how you dedicate so much time to us,
but we certainly appreciate all that you do. Personally, I like #17 &
#20, but would buy several if there were different ones available. Also,
cost doesn't really matter to me. I don't mind paying $20-$25 for a nice,
quality t-shirt that I can wear to the gym. I also agree with the poster
that suggested a tank top for gym use. I don't mind paying the extra $5
for the WLS logo either. As for sizes, I think we should accommodate as
many people as possible in as many sizes as possible. Thanks Eric for all
you do.
— Sonya H.
July 24, 2000
I like slogan #7 and would buy one. I would pay up to $20 for a T-shirt.
make them in sizes s to 3x
— Toni W.
July 25, 2000
I would pick #2 or #12. $15 to $25 depending on color of shirt and logo/no
logo. medium to 6X (or higher if available).
— heidiinPA
July 25, 2000
I like #7, #15 and #19...I'd get all three. $15-$20 for
a t-shirt is about right, and yes, personally, I'd pay extra
for the AMOS logo. Many of us "larger" folks like bigger
shirts...go at least up to a 4x if not larger. It's really
difficult to find nice t-shirts in bigger sizes that don't
have Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh on the front! :o)
— Linda J.
July 25, 2000
A) 19 & 20. B) $15 so I can afford a couple C) Yes to the logo D)
M-5X
***I like pastel colors, white and black
***I know you said you'd probably get them in 50/50 poly cotton, but would
you consider 100% cotton?? I'm sure I'm like alot of big people that get
very warm in any kind of polyester. COTTON BREATHES!
— Kellie L.
July 25, 2000
Slogan #1 I am only half the person I use to be
I would also purchase #7, #17, and # 19
I would be willing to pay $15 to $20 for a shirt.
As far as size, I feel we need to have the very large sizes,
as well as small, medium and large. We have member who are
all different sizes and we would not want to leave anyone
out.
— Avis G.
July 25, 2000
DECISIONS, DECISIONS,DECISIONS. SO MANY TO CHOSE FROM. IT IS REALLY TOO
HARD TO MAKE UP A PERSONS MIND. THEY ARE ALL TOO GOOD. BUT I AM SURE THAT I
COULD NARROW IT DOWN EVENTUALLY.MABEY A BEFORE T-SHIRT, AND THEN AFTER MY
SURGERY, MABEY A "AFTER" SHIRT.
— Marie C.
July 25, 2000
I would purchase #12--"Ask me what I lost at OBESITYHELP.COM"
I like the idea of AMOS logo but I am sure that stands for American Medical
Obesity Society or something right? And I am Canadian so it wouldnt make
much sense for me.
I would pay $10-$15USD and need a size large.
— Lori W.
July 25, 2000
A) I like the "I'm half the person I used to be".
B) 10$
C) yes
D) whatever sizes are available!
— Elizabeth W.
July 25, 2000
a)Sometimes losing is really winning, or Ask me what I lost... b) $15 c)yes
d)M to 6X, and this is just a thought, but I have seen iron-on transfers
that you can print in your ink-jet printer. So, if you have an ink-jet
printer of your own, maybe AMOS could provide the graphics for you to print
an iron-on transfer, or maybe AMOS could just sell the pre-printed
transfers directly. That way, if you were outside the pre-stocked range of
sizes, or if you wanted a different shirt color, you could just buy a plain
shirt of your choice, and iron the AMOS emblem on yourself.
— Lynn K.
July 25, 2000
I'm melting & the sizes I would think x-large on up to 4x.
— Lori H.
July 25, 2000
I like #5. It says it straight forward.(JUST DID IT)
But they are all good. You would want them to be good quailty so alittle
more money would make a differents.Yes to extra on the logo. thanks Cathy
Bernal Bandon,Or.
— Cathy B.
July 25, 2000
A) either 13 or 15
B) $15
C) not neccesary
D) Large
— Jodie S.
July 25, 2000
I like "Sometimes losing is really winning" but I would be very
reluctant to wear anything with the word "obesity" on it. Maybe
I'm overly sensitive, but I do not like the sound of that word.
"Losing weight" is fine, but "obesity" is somewhat
disgusting and therefore, I wish your website had a different e-mail
address. That's just my own opinion though.
— Cindy H.
July 25, 2000
I love - "I'm melting" and I'm a big time loser. I'd buy almost
any with or without the logo. $15-$20 sound like the most I'd spend
— Cecilia M.
July 25, 2000
#7-Sometimes Losing is Really Winning
I would pay extra for a colored logo.
— LaNora L.
July 25, 2000
I would buy number eight or nine, but perhaps we could extend the time for
idea submissions and have a vote. $15 is reasonable, not higher than $20
with the logo. Perhaps a choice of with or without the logo. Stock sizes
XL - 4X, special order larger sizes for those who need it.
— [Deactivated Member]
July 25, 2000
a) I WOULD GET NUMBER 9 HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW,b)$15 C) I WOULD PAY $5 MORE
D) 3X - MED
— Jennifer M.
July 25, 2000
I like #2 I'm half the person I used to be. I also like #10 Look at me
now. I'd be willing to pay $20 for a shirt. I would pay an extra $5 for
an AMOS logo. Sizes L-5X (or larger) should be offered. I like white.
— [Deactivated Member]
July 25, 2000
i like them all but # 20 is my answer, and yes i would buy one or
more.asap! is 15.00 a fair price?
— Diana V.
July 25, 2000
My vote goes to #14 "the wearer of this shirt is preshrunk"; if
we get another vote, my second choice would be #13 I used to make a bigger
impression. I'd pay up to $15 plus shipping. I'm suggesting a full range
of sizes.
— Mary A.
July 25, 2000
No #2 is great! I would definitely buy that one along
with #13
— kathy C.
July 25, 2000
I like #12, I would buy several in the $15-$20 range. I would like colored
t-shirts. The shirts should range in sizes small to 10X, we don't want to
leave anyone out..
— Saundra V.
July 25, 2000
Just did it!!
$15
c=maybe
d=med to 3 0r 4 x
— Chris H.
July 25, 2000
I like #7,14, & 20 -- I would buy all of these -- some of the other
slogans seem to send the wrong message about weight loss.
I would gladly pay $25 and a little more for a nice colour logo.
I would wear #20 & #7 right now and I would need a 4-5x.
Number 14 I would wear as I got smaller!
— Rhea R.
July 25, 2000
a) #12 and #17; b) 15-20; c) yes; d) small to whatever
— Connie G.
July 25, 2000
I like three slogans: #2 (I'm half the person I used to be), #18 (5000 tons
of understanding and support (but w/o the #5000, just Tons of understanding
and support) and #20 (I'm melting). I also agree and like Lynn Karagorys'
suggestion of just preprinted transfers. This way those who want to buy
their own color and style of plain shirt (and size too) can do so. Also
maybe offer printed shirts too. Sizes up to 6x. I would buy printed
shirts at $20 and would pay more for the logo.
— Anita S.
July 25, 2000
I like 2, 13 and 14. I would wear any of these shirts and I would pay more
for the color. I think that $15 to $18 is fair for a t shirt and I think
we should carry M through 4X.
I only wish I could have been there for the brain storming session where
you came up with these. I am sure that it was a lot of fun.
— Pam G.
July 25, 2000
Shirt slogans:
a:8,11,13,15,20
b:$10.00
c: doesn't matter either way
d: med,lg,Xlg,1X 2X
— Pamela L.
July 25, 2000
Which slogans do I like? 8, 13, 14, 15, & 20...If you were selling
right now...A) I would purchase the slogans I listed above. B) Up to $15 C)
yes D) The whole gamut of sizes so everyone can wear them, it shouldn't be
limited to just skinny post-op patients, but also those who just had
surgery.
— Crystal C.
July 25, 2000
i like #20 im melting. a) i would purchase one for myself b)i would pay up
to $20 c)yes i would!d) i would say from medium to 4x
— brynda F.
July 25, 2000
answer to question 1. I like number 7, 8, 9, 14, and 20, I think especially
20 since I am just starting out!
question 2 I would say from a medium to 6xxxxxx for those just starting out
also that way you cover everyone and noone will feel left out.
question 3 yes I would pay the $5 extra for a color log it looks more
professional!
question 4 the most I would pay for a T-SHIRT would be 16.00 depending on
the brand you use.
— Tonya F.
July 25, 2000
Although I like the tshirt idea, I know I for one would not wear something
like that flaunting my pre-obesity. I am proud of the weight loss I have
accomplished and told EVERYONE that I had surgery, but to wear a tshirt I
feel would be ridiculous.
— Laura L.

would be willing to pay $5 for a nice color and sizes would range from
medium all the way to a 4x
— Barbara P.
July 25, 2000
I would purchase 17 , 18 or 19. From my own experience , these represent
what this website means to me. About 20 bucks and yes I would pay extra for
a color logo. Sizes? I realize more sizes cost more money and you certainly
don't want to loose money by carring hundreds of shirts in a huge variety
of sizes so you need to talk to someone who knows the tee shirt business
and can advise you better than me, But , personaly I want a 1x!
— Rose A.
July 25, 2000

July 25, 2000
I liked #7 "Sometimes Losing is really winning." I don't think
people who are still very heavy would be comfortable wearing a shirt with
statement about "look at me now" and other weight related
statements that suggest a signifigant loss. I especially dont like the
super model one only because I feel it is an unrealistic goal and could be
taken wrong by some. I would pay anywhere from 20-30 dollars for a t-shirt
and would love it if a sweatshirt was offered!!!! I hope that maybe there
are several slogans to chose from not just one...but I suggest we stay away
from ones that focus to much on being "thin" and more on
health!!! Love ya all!! -Sydney
— Sydney ..
July 25, 2000
I like number 17 or 19 since that is what this site is all about and it
covers pre-ops post-ops or no-ops.
— Jilda H.
July 25, 2000
Eric, I've already posted my opinion as to the ones I like best but I'd
like you to keep in mind when you are selecting the slogans that everyone
at this site is at a different stage. Some are hoping to have surgery,
some are postop but haven't lost all their weight yet and some are at goal.
With that in mind please select slogans that are appropriate for each
group, or something that can be used by everyone.
— Kellie L.
July 25, 2000
I would definatley buy them, regardless of what they said, anything to get
the message out. I do like #5 and #9 though. I wear a 3x, and from what I
know of this sight, probably 2x's to 6 or 7x's. Glad I could help.
— Teresa J.
July 25, 2000
#1, 12, 13,
a) I would buy one each of the three I selected(If good quality)
b) $15
c)I am sorry but I could not AFFORD an extra $5 per shirt.
d) as many sizes as possable
— Bren H.
July 25, 2000
I forgot to add my answers to the other questions. I would be happy to pay
up to $20 for the shirt, would pay extra for the WLS AMOS logo (would make
for a better looking T-shirt) and there will certainly be a need for all
sizes (small up to the X's).
— Jilda H.
July 25, 2000
a. number 14, the wearer of this shirt is preshrunk

I like #7 the best, "Sometimes losing is really winning." It is
fitting for pre- or post-op. I would pay around $15 total for the shirt.

I would suggest sizes Small to XXXXL --- if you are able to have a large

sure most people can relate, when it says XL it actually means M/L. actual
size meaning it really would fit someone that can wear most XL stuff!

These are great!! I like alot of them, but the T-shirt that caught my eye

Med-3x so people at all stages are able to waer them.

July 28, 2000
If I were selling the T's the sizes I would have made would depend on the
logo. If the logo targets more towards "after the weight" I would
tend to make smaller sizes. If you are wanting to target people before
surgery than I would make larger sizes like clear up to 6X-8X or atleast
4X.

I would pay the extra to make sure the logo for the for the association is
on the t-shirt. And I think it should be spelled out not just initials, cuz
people won't understand just the initials. I would like to combine 2 of
them as follows: Sometimes losing is Really winning!
Ask me what I lost at Obesityhelp.com
Another combo : 5000 ton's of Understanding and Support
You don't have to go it alone.
then on the back the WLS logo or put that on the front and the script on
the back. This is a great Idea. As someone else mentioned, make sure the
sizes are accurate, and even big losers can still be quite large, so all
sizes from medium to multi X. I wouldn't mind a really big one to sleep in
and a more fitting one to wear. I know I could get my Dr's Office to sell
them too. I think 20 bucks is reasonable for good quality 100% cotton t's.
Like Hanes Beefy t's. some of the prices people are quoting are too low.
Plus if you "raised" the price a little the procedes could help
support the site, start a fund for sending something to the families when
the "unexpected happens", lots of things. I also think that a
limited number of colors should be offered, to be decided by the
association of course.
Anyway, I always get long winded. Great Idea. let me know what I can do to
help. You are already a great leader.
Love,Valerie

I like the 3rd and 4th slogans. Either one of them. I would purchase quite
a few of them. I intend to show myself off and while I was doing that I
could advertise for this site. I think everyone that is overweight should
know about this site. I dont care how much they would cost. Some things
as they say are priceless. The size should be enough to accomodate all of
us. I would want to start out in a large one and end in one that fits.
This is a very good idea you have here.
— Tanya B.
July 28, 2000
I like numbers 6,14,15,16.

personally use a 3X.

I love # 14 and # 1! As for sizes, we recently did shirts for our family
reunion and found them in up to a 10XL, it would be great for everyone to
have a chance to wear one.

I LIKE # 11 SLOGAN. IT SAYS IT ALL. I WOULD EXPECT TO PAY BETWEEN 19.99
& 24.99 FOR A T SHIRT. I WOULD NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE WLS SLOGAN AND I
WOULD ASSUME THE SIZES WOULD BE FROM MEDIUM TO XXL DUE TO THE CHANGING OF
OUR BODIES.
