Question:
What to do if it happens again?
Please explain to me about food getting stuck. Where does it get stuck? Why is it so painful? Why do I feel it more in my chest and throat then in my stomach? Is it best to drink to try to push it through? If you can't drink, how is meat tenderizer going to help. Should I throw-up? The experience I had was so painful and I was so scared I really need to know what to do if it should happen again. — hannah R. (posted on June 18, 2000)

That happened to me twice early on post-op..both times was MY fault
from eating to fast or not chewing properly (wolfing down food was
always my downfall in weight gain before surgery) However, this only
happened twice and I learned from those experiances to slow down on
eating, down wait until I'm starved to eat, and don't drink same time as
eating.. I'm 6 months post-op and have had NO MORE problems.. feel
free to email me if you have any more questions.
