Hi, My PCP is Dr. Jose Burbano in Carrollton,TX. I have Aetna HMO and I should know by the end of next week whether I got approval for my surgery. The Surgeon he referred me to is Dr. Veninga who has offices in Carrollton & Plano. Dr. Burbano has been my Mom's doctor for almost 10years and mine for several of those years until my work changed insurance carriers. Fortunately I was able to get him back in January of 1999. I went through Medifast with Dr. Burbano about 10 years ago and lost 150lbs after fasting for 18months. Unfortunately it all came back in 6 months and since then I have put on another 150lbs. Currently I am at 490 and ready for a change. I would recommend Dr. Burbano to anyone that needed a good and caring doctor. Unlike many doctors I have had over the years he has never been one to blame my weight when I got sick. He office is busy but his patients all like him and he has a great staff too:) When I finally saw him to ask how he felt about WLS he was not quick with his answer. I think he was happy that I brought it up, but he wanted to be sure that I knew there were risks involved and did not want to influence my decision. But knowing my history and my struggle with weight he had no problem making the referral.
