Question:
Do you have an old computer to donate to a site volunteer?
Kricket has been the dutify pic processor for our site. We have her to thank for all the face pics on the message board as well as all the new photos. Well, she's been doing this on a 5 year old 75 MHz machine! This is too much to bear. Her internet windows keep crashing over and over again when she tries to upload pics. She is a single mother of two and can't afford anything better until at least late summer. Do any of you have an older computer you might donate to her? I'm sure some of you might have. Anything to tide her over. A 75 MHz ain't hard to beat. My only other computer is a 40 Mhz, which doesn't boot any more, or I'd send it over in a snap. Please lend a helping hand here if you can. Things are getting worse and at this rate, we might not have any more pics going up for a long time. If you donate your computer to the Association for Morbid Obesity Support, it will be a tax deductable write off for you for either the year 2000 or 2001, depending upon how quickly Ken Krogman and I can process the huge mass of paperwork required to get non-profit status. Thanks in advance for your help. — ericklein (posted on May 15, 2000)

Yes I do have an old computer. It's a 486 170 hard drive, with 33 meg. I
also have a hp 4L laser printer. There is nothing wrong with it except it
does not have a cd rom. It's a Dell, maybe Dell would being willing to
upgrade it for you. If you think you can use either machine, I am willing
to donate both to this wonderful site. I take advantage of your site every
single day. You can email me at [email protected]
