Question:
7 days post-op...is abdominal pressure
Hey all...I'm 7 days post-op from RNY-proximal and feel alot like an overpumped football! I know they pump gas into us...but geez! I gained 9 pounds pre-op to post-op and was on the table for 8 1/2 hours (unforeseen circumstances) so maybe it's to be expected. On the whole I feel fabulous, but sitting for very long bites. I am soooooo bored!!! Thanks for your help! Lisa — Lisa S. (posted on April 5, 2000)

Lisa - isn't that bloated feeling the worst!!! I always felt like I could
inflate the drainage tube! It generally dissipates after week 1. . . I
decided that we recover in stages (this is totally my opinion) - week 1 is
gas; week 2 is constipation; week 3 (or whatever week you move to solid
fods) is pain and dumping -- which is the stage I'm in now. I know how
weird your stomach feels now -- it'll pass soon!

Lisa, It IS a pain! Walking will help though, so try and walk
as much as you can. My Hubby took me to Walmart and the local
grocery store so I could walk (the weather was COLD) and it
helped tremendously! By the way, "this too shall pass" Sorry
I couldn't resist!!! :)
