Question:
If necessary, how would a vertical band gastroplasty be reversed?

To my knowledge the staples stay in place and the ring is removed. I think it is the same type of surgery for reversal. Talk to your Doctor.

VBG reversal only consists of cutting the ring.You would never remove the staples, but wth out the ring at the bottom you wouyld be able to eat unlimited amounts of food, there by making the surgery void. Good Luck! hope this helps!
